About Kobayashi Foundation for Cancer Research and Kobayashi Foundation Award for the Asian researcher or medical team

Kobayashi Foundation for Cancer Research (KFCR) was established in 2008. The purpose of KFCR is to promote academic fields and science technologies in the field of cancer treatment and contribute to the development and improvement of cancer treatment by making grants/giving awards to innovative/pioneering cancer treatments about cancer chemotherapy, giving awards to outstanding social activities in the field of cancer treatment and making grants to human resource cultivation through the promotion of the latest academic information.

One of the activity of KFCR is giving awards to Asian researchers and medical teams who have remarkable social contributions in the field of cancer treatment. Kobayashi Foundation Award (KFA) had been started jointly with the Asian Clinical Oncology Society from 2010, and continued until 2014. In 2016, it was programmed the following two categories: one is for cancer researchers who created distinguished research achievements in the field of oncology and cancer chemotherapy (Part 1) and the other is for the healthcare professionals or medical teams in the field of oncology or cancer chemotherapy (Part 2). So far, three researchers and six medical teams had won the KFA.
